Figari Film Fest to showcase ‘Exam’

Iranian short flick ‘Exam’ is slated to be screened at the Figari Film Fest (FFF) in Italy.

Iranian short flick ‘Exam’ is slated to be screened at the Figari Film Fest (FFF) in Italy.

Sonia Haddad’s film will be vying at the 10th edition of the Italian event.

‘Exam’ is the story of a teenage girl who delivers a package of illegal drug to a client and gets caught in a weird cycle of events.

So far in 2020, the flick has won multiple prestigious awards at some global film festivals — the Special Jury Award for Best Actor at the 35th Sundance Film Festival in the US, a special mention at the 21st ShorTS International Film Festival in Italy and the Best Short Award at the 42nd Créteil International Women's Film Festival in France, to name but a few.

Kaveh Mazaheri’s ‘Funfair’ and Iranian-Danish short animation ‘Song Sparrow’ by Farzaneh Omidvarnia are also among the Iranian contenders at the Figari filmfest this year.

Besides promoting international cinema, the FFF is a showcase for young directors’ debuts.

The latest edition of the event will take place on September 13-16, 2020.
